Last week we continued to work in our groups to compose our Gregorian chants and get them ready for performance this week. Half the class got to go to Disneyland to see behind the scenes the importance of sound and how Walt used it to make his parks and movies magical. One of my favorite moments was when the kids were given some homemade instruments in frontier-land and told to re-imagine one of the Disney songs and then perform it for each group. The kids had to play and sing their songs making them frontier style. The songs given them to change were “under the Sea” and “A Whole New World.” The kids changed the titles to “under the stars” and “A Frontier world”. It was great fun.
